Matruka is an organization led by a group of three young energetic students from high school whose aim is to bring all passionate young volunteers, who are interested in teaching, onto a single platform. The idea of starting this organization has emerged during the Covid Pandemic, where the students showed a positive impact through online learning. Initially, we started teaching music, yoga, languages, but later we expanded to academic subjects. We have many young volunteers from across the globe who are passionate about teaching and those who are looking for an opportunity to start teaching are most welcome to join our Organization. We are overwhelmed by the response received from the students and their parents through our online teaching, and are looking forward to continuing our journey with all the existing and new members of the organization. We have worked with multiple charitable organizations such as Sewa International, Akshaya Patra, Westminster Free Clinic, Samskrita Bharati USA, and the African Library Project on various projects and contributed to their campaigns. We also do our own personal campaigns such as CPR and First Aid Awareness Workshops. Although Matruka has been active since May 2020, we have just started our website in order to spread our reach and impact more people. While we are not a 501(c)(3), we are working on fiscal sponsorship and will functionally be a non-profit. We have delayed becoming an official non-profit, as we believe it is more beneficial to the students we teach to focus on developing our current program.
